Eerste River roadworks are off to a great start

31 October 2025

The resurfacing of roads in Kleinvlei, Eerste River and Kuils River has commenced and is scheduled to continue until 18 December 2025, weather permitting and all goes according to plan. On Wednesday, 29 October 2025 the City’s Roads Infrastructure Management Director, Hilton Scholtz, Councillor Rob Quintas, Councillor Ursula Barends and Councillor Frans Sauls visited Eerste River to assess the progress of the ongoing roadworks.

To keep Cape Town moving, the City must carry out essential road resurfacing projects. I’d like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding while this important work takes place. In Eerste River, the roads are being resurfaced with new asphalt layers, damaged kerbs are being replaced, and all road markings will be reinstated once the project is complete. We’re pleased that the work has started smoothly and look forward to improved road conditions once it’s finished,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

During this period, the City’s Roads Infrastructure Management teams will also be carrying out work in Kleinvlei and Kuils River. The affected roads are listed below:

•        Kleinvlei
Raymond Ackerman Avenue; Albert Philander Way; Gousblom Avenue; Vygie Avenue; Watsonia Street; Ghaap Street; Namakwa Street and Daisy Street
